Claudia Taylor Johnson, 210 West 6th Street

Occurred on 11-5-05 at 10:24 PM.

Lewd Activity (2 counts) / Criminal Trespass (2 counts): Two non-UT subjects were found in a sub-level exterior stairwell engaging in activity that is best suited for a more private location. Once both subjects were fully dressed, they were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

F.L. Winship Drama Building, 300 East 23rd Street

Discovered on 11-6-05 at 12:43 AM.

Criminal Mischief: Several colors of chalk were used to write words on the south exterior wall of the building. Removal cost: $25.00.

Gateway Apartments, 1618 West 6th Street

Occurred on 11-2-05.

Theft: A bottle of Polo cologne was stolen from an apartment bathroom. During the time frame of the theft, construction workers were working in the apartment. Loss value: $40.00.

Harry Ransom Center, 300 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-5-05 at 2:00 AM.

Disorderly Conduct Exposure (2 counts) / Evading (2 counts): Two UT students were found running on the east side of the building wearing little more than their smiles. The students ran from the police officer when ordered to stop. When stopped, the students stated they had recently watched a movie that included a scene where the actor was streaking and a friend bet them $20.00 they would not streak around the Dobie Center. The students won the bet.

Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 9:15 PM.

Criminal Trespass: A Dormitory Resident Assistant found a subject reading a book on the 10th floor. The subject refused to speak to the Resident Assistant. The subject left the area after the Resident Assistant told him he would need to leave. The Resident Assistant later saw the same subject entering the 10th floor elevator lobby. The Resident Assistant then escorted the subject out of the building and reported the subject to the police department. After locating the subject, the police officer determined the subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning. The subject was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing an unknown white powder.

Jester Center Academic, 201 East 21st Street

Discovered on 11-7-05 at 10:37 AM.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write an illegible word on a wall inside a 1st floor mens restroom. Removal cost: $30.00.

Lake Austin Center, 3001 lake Austin Blvd

Occurred between 11-2-05 at 3:30 PM and 11-5-05 at 8:45 AM.

Theft: A Hewlett-Packard LaserJet 2200 printer was stolen from a 2nd floor room. Loss value: $500.00.

O. Henry Hall, 601 Colorado

Occurred on 11-5-05 at 3:30 AM.

Criminal Trespass: Two non-UT subjects were found sleeping on the south side of the building. Both subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings.

Parking Lot 115, 1600 East 20th Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 3:10 AM.

Public Intoxication: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found sleeping in the drivers seat of his Toyota Sport Utility. When police officers were able to awaken the student, he simply waved at the officers and fell back asleep in the drivers seat. The students pants were wet which must have caused discomfort, as at one point while speaking with the officers, the student unzipped his pants. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Parking Lot 80, 1900 Robert Dedman

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 1:30 AM.

Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found sleeping in the back of his parked vehicle. The subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 9:30 PM.

Criminal Mischief: A UT student contacted the UT Police Department at 2:15 AM on 11-7-05 to report having seen two subjects using chalk to mark the cement plaza on the north side of the library on 11-6-05 at 9:30 PM. The student did not report the incident when it occurred as she had things to do. One of the subjects was described as a white male wearing a yellow t-shirt and black pants. Removal cost $20.00.

San Antonio Parking Garage, 2420 San Antonio

Discovered on 11-6-05 at 11:52 PM.

Graffiti: A silver permanent marker was used to write a word on the side of an electrical box that is affixed to the south side of the garage. Removal cost: $30.00.

2200 San Jacinto

Discovered on 11-7-05 at 12:16 AM.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write an illegible word on a temporary street sign located on the side of the roadway. Removal cost: $30.00.

2300 San Jacinto

Discovered on 11-7-05 at 4:32 AM.

Graffiti: White paint was used to write a word on the side of a US Postal Service drop box located on the side of the street. Removal cost: $40.00.

San Jacinto Residence Hall, 309 East 21st Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 3:40 AM.

Public Intoxication / Possession of Alcohol By A Minor (2 Counts) / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: UT Police Officers responded to the west side of the dormitory to investigate a report of a student having an extreme involuntary reaction causing his stomach contents to be expelled; said contents reportedly contained blood. The student and his room mate, who were both under the age of 21, were found in their 5th floor dormitory room. Both students were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. The student who had been experiencing the severe involuntary reaction refused medical attention. Two bottles of alcoholic beverages were found inside the room.

Sanchez Building, 1912 Speedway

Occurred on 11-4-05 between 4:05 PM and 4:20 PM.

Theft: A black leather purse containing a wallet, $300.00 in cash, two identification cards, two credit cards, a Motorola cell phone and keys was stolen when it was left on the floor of a 4th floor classroom. Loss value: $430.00.

South Mall

Discovered on 11-7-05 at 1:22 AM.

Criminal Mischief: An unidentified subject or subjects tipped over several cement trashcans and ashtrays located on the South Mall. Repair cost: $35.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 11-4-05 between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

Theft: A black and dark blue E-pak backpack containing a textbook, a calculator and an MP3 player was stolen when it was left on the floor in a 3rd floor hallway while the owner took a nap in a near-by chair. Loss value: $250.00.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 3:00 AM.

Public Intoxication / Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: Two non-UT subjects were found loitering in the alley on the west side of the building. Both subjects began to walk away when a patrol car approached them. Both subjects were found to have consumed alcoholic beverages. One subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-4-05 between 11:40 AM and 5:00 PM.

Theft: A silver Raleigh Mojave bicycle was stolen while it was secured with an unknown type of bicycle lock to a bicycle rack located on the north side of the building. The owner was unsure if she properly secured her bicycle to the bicycle rack. Loss value: $350.00.

W.R. Woolrich Laboratories, 210 East 24th Street

Occurred on 11-4-05 between 12 noon and 3:30 PM.

Theft: A black Canondale bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a cable lock to a bicycle rack located on the south side of the building. Loss value: $400.00.

200 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 11-5-05 at 2:40 AM.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for running a red light while driving a Jeep. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a driving while intoxicated.

214 West Martin Luther King

Discovered on 11-6-05 at 11:38 PM.

Graffiti: A black permanent marker was used to write a word on the east exterior door to an abandoned property. Removal cost: $35.00.

Occurred on 11-4-05 at 9:45 PM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found loitering on the north side of an abandoned building owned by UT. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

700 West 6th Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 2:00 AM.

Disorderly Conduct - Fighting in a Public Place / Evading / Assist Outside Agency: A non-UT subject was found punching three other subjects. When a police officer approached, the striking subject fled the area on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, the subject was apprehended. The subject stated he was punching the three subjects as a result of a previous altercation in a club. The striking subject was found to have an outstanding outside agency arrest warrant for public intoxication.

Discovered on 11-6-05 at 11:43 PM.

Graffiti: A white permanent marker was used to write a word on the base of a newspaper vending machine located on the north side of the roadway. Removal cost: $30.00.

300 West 21st Street

Occurred on 11-6-05 at 3:15 AM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the north side of the roadway. As a police officer approached, the subject woke up and began to walk westbound. The subject was found to be in possession of a can of black spray paint. No evidence of recent graffiti involving black spray paint could be found in the immediate area. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 17 alarm calls, 3 unsecured door reports, 1 suspicious activity report, 1 medical emergency, 2 welfare concern reports and 4 requests for service between 11-4-05 and 11-7-05.
