The University Police Department is hosting a Defensive Driving class on January 24, 2006 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The classes meet in the University Police Building, Room 1.318, located at 2201 Robert Dedman Dr (east of Memorial Stadium). Battle Hall, #1 West Mall

Occurred on 01-11-06 at 10:32 AM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported as having been loitering near the basement level mens restroom harassing people for several days. Once the report was made, the subject was readily located and issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Bernard and Audre Rapoport Building, #5 East Mall

Occurred on 01-11-06 between 9:15 PM and 11:00 PM.

Theft: A red vinyl lunch bag with black trim containing flatware, a toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash was stolen from a secured 2nd floor storage closet. Loss value: $10.00.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Discovered on 01-12-06 at 12:30 AM.

Graffiti: Black spray paint was used to write words and draw illegible letters on the west wall of the building. Removal cost: $40.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 01-11-06 at 7:42 AM.

Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was found sleeping on the ground by the exterior stairwell located on the northeast side of the building. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

800 East Dean Keeton

Occurred on 01-12-06 at 2:33 AM.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped after committing several traffic violations, including swerving into a traffic lane that was currently occupied by a marked police vehicle. The subject refused to participate in any of the standardized field sobriety tests. The subject was unable to walk without support. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was driving while intoxicated.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 6 alarm calls, 1 unsecured door report, 2 public assist requests, 1 medical emergency and 1 suspicious activity report between 01-11-06 and 01-12-06.
