Occurred between 12-23-05 and 01-12-06.
Theft: A silver Dixie mountain bicycle was reported stolen from the bike racks located on the south side of the building after being secured with a combination lock and cable. Loss value: $75.00.
Parking Lot 37, 220 Block Red River
Occurred on 1-19-06 at 11:40PM.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject was reported to have been stopping staff and students and asking them for money. When stopped by UTPD the subject stated that he had seen the lights and asked people for money.
North Office Annex, 101 East 27th Street
Occurred on 01-19-06 at 3:30 PM.
Criminal Trespass: A non-UT subject attempted to sell framed art work and photographs of various UT landmarks to staff. The subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and escorted from the area.
Crime Prevention Tip:
Hats off to the staff member that contacted UTPD to report this suspicious activity. Many people soliciting may be seeing what types of security measures are inside an office, lab, or classroom. When ever something does not seem correct, chances are you are right. Contact the police and let them investigate.

Attempted Theft: A UT staff member reported finding a subject behind her desk, holding her purse inside her 4th floor office. The subject dropped her purse and told her that he was looking for the International Office so that he could check his email. The subject then left the building. The subject is described as a black male 5'11", 170lbs. He was last seen wearing a pink shirt with vertical stripes, blue jeans and tennis shoes. He had in his possession a dark colored, overstuffed backpack.
Walter Webb Hall, 2500 Guadalupe

Graffiti: White and silver paint was used to write letters in several locations on the east exterior wall. Loss value: $100.00.
200 Block West 21st Street
Occurred on 01-20-06 at 2:35 AM
Disorderly Conduct- Fighting: UT police officers observed four UT students fighting outside of the Dobie Mall Center. None of the combatants wanted to file charges.
Crime Prevention Tip:
The cause of this fight was not determined by the police officer who witnessed the fight. But in the report the officer noted that he could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage on each subject involved. In many reported assaults, including sexual assaults, alcohol has been listed as a key factor during a police investigation.
2300 Block Robert Dedman Dr.
Occurred on 01-20-06.
Public Intoxication: A UT police officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked across several parking spaces with the head lights on. The driver was observed standing in the shadows. When he was walking back towards his vehicle it appeared that he was adjusting his belt. The officer later learned that the subject was not wearing a belt. During the investigation the officer determined that the subject was intoxicated and intended to drive.
Occurred at various times.
Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 5 alarm calls, 3 unsecured door reports, 1 request for assistance and 3 suspicious activity reports between 01-19-06 and 01-20-06.
