Blanton Museum of Art Construction Site, 1900 Speedway

Occurred between 01-26-06 at 7:00 PM and 01-27-06 at 5::00 AM.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown subject used a rock to break out the right window of a Cat Track Loader. There was no evidence to suggest any items were stolen from the loader or that there had been an attempt to start the loader. Repair cost: $400.00.

Colorado Building, 702 Colorado

Occurred on 01-29-06 at 2:33 AM.

Criminal Mischief / Possession of a Fictitious Driver License: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was reported as pulling a traffic sign off of the side of a nearby parking garage. The subject was found to be in possession of a fictitious driver license which purported him to be 22 years old. Repair cost: $300.00.

Engineering Science Building, 2501 Speedway

Occurred between 01-18-06 and 01-24-06 at 5:30 PM.

Theft: $300.00 in cash was stolen form an unsecured safe located inside a 1st floor room assigned to a student organization. Loss value: $300.00.

Frank C. Erwin Special Events Center, 1701 Red River

Occurred on 01-27-06 at 8:05 PM.

Public Intoxication: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was stopped after being observed attempting to open the door to a private suite before turning and running into the arena concourse wall. When asked for his identification, the subject handed the police officer a $20.00 bill and claimed it to be his identification. Andrew Jackson went on to state he had consumed 18 alcoholic beverages and begged to be let go to avoid facing another of many alcohol offenses. Andrew Jackson was found to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself.

Geography Building, 210 West 24th Street

Discovered on 01-28-06.

Criminal Mischief: An unknown subject(s) broke the glass inserts out of two 3rd floor classrooms and one 4th floor classroom. At this time, it is unknown if any items were stolen form the classrooms. Repair cost: $300.00.

Jester Center West, 201 East 21st Street

Occurred on 01-30-06 at approximately 1:15 AM.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon: Four UT students knocked on the door of a 3rd floor resident. One of the four students is a former acquaintance of the 3rd floor resident. After the resident and his former acquaintance spoke briefly, the resident closed the door. The group of four students began to knock on the residents door repeatedly. The resident opened the door while holding an open folding pocket knife and ordered them to leave. The resident advised police he just wanted to scare them.

Moore Hill Hall Dormitory, 214 East 21st Street

Occurred on 01-29-06 at 5:00 AM.

Public Intoxication: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was found passed out on the floor inside a 1st floor mens restroom. On several occasions, the student displayed a severe involuntary physical reaction to the over-consumption of an alcoholic beverage. The student had previously sustained a bloody nose which he stated happens when he is stressed. The student could not recall how many alcoholic beverages he had consumed. The student was found to be under the influence of alcohol to the point he was a physical danger to himself.

Parking Lot 27, 2600 Whitis

Occurred on 01-28-06 between 2:00 AM and 3:15 PM.

Leaving the Scene Collision: The right rear door and right rear quarter-panel to a parked 2004 Pontiac Grand Am 4-door were struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene without leaving driver information. The striking vehicle left brown and black marks on the Pontiac Grand Am. Repair cost: $2,000.00.

Parking Lot 104, 1900 North IH-35

Discovered on 01-27-06 at 10:35 AM.

Criminal Mischief: The left front window was broken out of a silver Toyota 4-door while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot. No items were taken form the vehicle. Repair cost: $150.00.

San Antonio Garage, 2420 San Antonio

Discovered on 01-27-06 at 7:20 AM.

Graffiti: An unknown subject used an etching chemical to draw a symbol on a glass window panel located on the east side of the garage. Repair cost: $300.00.

Union Building, #4 West Mall

Occurred on 01-28-06 between 2:15 PM and 4:15 PM.

Theft: $100.00 in cash was stolen form a purse that was left on a chair in a 2nd floor restaurant. Loss value: $100.00.

2000 San Jacinto

Occurred on 01-29-06 between 3:00 AM and 1:50 PM.

Leaving the Scene Collision: The left front quarter-panel of a parked1996 Ford Mustang was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle left the scene without leaving driver information. Repair cost: $500.00.

2300 San Jacinto

Occurred on 01-28-06 at 2:30 AM.

Driving While Intoxicated: A UT student, who was under the age of 21, was stopped for speeding and disregarding a stop sign while driving a 1999 Toyota sport utility vehicle. The student stated she was speeding because she needed to get downtown to pick-up a friend who had too much to drink. The student was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point she was found to have been driving while intoxicated.

100 West Dean Keeton

Occurred on 01-29-06 at 3:22 AM.

Driving While Intoxicated: A non-UT subject was stopped for running a red light while driving a blue Mitsubishi 2-door. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was found to have been driving while intoxicated.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 22 alarm calls, 8 unsecured door reports, 5 requests for assistance, 5 medical emergencies, 1 light survey and 3 suspicious activity reports between 01-27-06 and 01-30-06.
