Occurred on 03-09-06 between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM.
Theft: An Armani Exchange bag containing a set of keys, a blue Tommy Hilfiger t-shirt, a pair of Levi blue jeans, a Sony MPIO MP3 player, a Sanyo cell phone and a wallet with various identification and credit cards was stolen when it was left inside an unsecured locker located inside a 2nd floor weight room. Loss value: $490.00.
Crime Prevention Tip:
The victim in this case probably believed he could keep an eye on his property because he would be in the same room as his property while he worked out. Im not sure how many of you lift weights, but I assure you, when you are lying underneath several hundred pounds of free weights, you are not looking at or even thinking about your property. Concentrate on your workout while protecting your property make sure to invest a quarter to secure your weight room locker.

Public Intoxication / Assist Outside Agency / Criminal Trespass Warning: A non-UT subject entered the building and asked for an unknown building location prior to asking to use the restroom facilities. The subject had difficulty standing and walking. The subject was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage to the point he was a physical endangerment to himself. The subject was also found to have four outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for traffic violations. In addition to other law enforcement action taken, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning.

Occurred on 03-10-06 at 2:29 AM.
Driving While Intoxicated / Assist outside Agency: A UT student was observed running a stop sign while driving a silver Dodge 4-door and for operating a motor vehicle at night without its headlamps turned on. As if that was not enough, the student then proceeded to run over a center median. The student was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages to the point he was driving while intoxicated. The student was also found to have two outstanding outside agency arrest warrants for theft and running a stop sign.

Theft: A blue Jamis bicycle was stolen while it was secured with a 3/8 cable lock to a bicycle rack located near the Speedway Pedestrian Plaza. Loss value: $500.00.
Crime Prevention Tip:
Bicycle thefts are on the rise again. These thefts are occurring in the evening and during the daytime times when there are numerous potential witnesses. Be one of those witnesses and help UTPD apprehend a bike thief. With your help, we can protect every bicycle on campus you may even earn a free pizza by calling UTPD to report a bike theft that leads to the apprehension of said thief. To protect your bicycle, use a quality u-lock to secure the front wheel and bicycle frame to a bicycle rack. If you have not left already for your Spring Break festivities, make sure you store your bicycle in your dorm room or apartment before you leave.
