*****Be On the Look Out*****

The University of Texas at Austin Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating an individual described in the Townes Hall incident. The police department is aware of a known subject who matchs the description of the suspect in the below case. This subject has frequented several locations around campus, but has been reported in Townes Hall and the Main Building on several occasions. The subject likes to wear baggy pants; normally sweat pants. If you see a subject matching the description of the suspect in the Townes Hall case, please contact the UT Police Department at 512-471-4441 as soon as possible.

Brazos Garage, 210 East MLK

Occurred on 04-06-06 between 2:10 PM and 2:40 PM.

Theft: A Gateway computer was stolen when it was left on an exterior platform located by an automated pay station for 30 minutes. Loss value: $1,500.00.

Parking Lot 38, 2200 Red River

Occurred between 04-04-06 at 11:45 AM and 04-05-06 at 9:45 PM.

Theft: A silver cable and pad lock that had been placed on the wheel of a Yamaha motorcycle by a Parking and Transportation Services Employee as a wheel immobilizer was stolen. The motorcycle it had been placed on was also missing from the parking lot. Loss value: $40.00.

Parking Lot 80, 1900 Red River

Occurred on 04-06-06 between 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM.

Leaving the Scene Collision: An unknown vehicle struck the right front quarter panel of a Mazda 2-door while the Mazda was parked in the Parking Lot. Green and white paint transfer was left on Mazda. The driver of the striking vehicle did not leave driver information on the Mazda. Repair cost: $300.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 04-06-06 between 1:30 PM and 1:35 PM.

Theft: An Apple iPod was stolen while it was left under some papers by a window on the south end of the 6th floor. Loss value: $150.00.

Perry-Castañeda Library, 101 East 21st Street

Occurred on 04-06-06 between 3:00 PM and 4:55 PM.

Theft: A white plastic pencil case containing a SWISS memory stick was stolen when it was left on a 6th floor desk. Loss value: $40.00.

Robert Lee Moore Hall, 2515 Speedway

Occurred on 04-06-06 at 5:10 PM.

Criminal Trespass / Possession of Marijuana: A non-UT subject, who had been reported earlier in the day as loitering around the 15th floor library, was found inside the library that has posted signs indicating the library is for use by faculty, staff and students from a particular department. The subject had previously been issued a written criminal trespass warning. The subject was found to be in possession of a plastic bag containing .75 ounces of marijuana.

Townes Hall, 727 East Dean Keeton

Reported on 04-03-06 at 1:40 PM.

Lewd Conduct: An unknown subject reported seeing an unidentified subject engaged in a sexual activity by himself on the 3rd floor. The reporting person provided a description of the subject as a black male, approximately 5'7" tall with a stocky build and wearing grey sweatpants and a white t-shirt.

University Teaching Center, 105 West 21st Street

Occurred on 04-06-06 at 3:52 PM.

Assault by Contact: Two UT students fell asleep on two couches located in a 4th floor northeast hallway. One of the students was awakened when she felt a hand on buttocks. The student looked to see a white male subject turn and run down the hallway. The student screamed awaking the other student. The other student recognized the description of the subject as a person she had seen walking toward them as they were just falling asleep. When the subject noticed the student looking at him, he quickly changed directions and walked away. The students described the subject as a white male, in his mid 20s approximately 6'1" tall, 150 pounds with mid length shaggy brown hair and wearing a green polo shirt, khaki cargo shorts.

Occurred on 04-07-06 at 3:14 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was found hiding behind an exterior wall. The subject was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

1900 San Jacinto

Occurred on 04-07-06 at 3:38 AM.

Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor: A non-UT subject, who was under the age of 21, was found leaning on a second non-UT subject while crossing the street. The subject with the apparent equilibrium problem was found to have consumed alcoholic beverages.

Occurred at various times.

Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 8 alarm calls, 5 suspicious activity reports, 2 unsecured door reports, 1 motor vehicle collision, 1 brushfire and 1 request for public assistance between 04-06-06 and 04-07-06.
