Gregory Gym, 2101 Speedway
Occurred on 5-10-06, at 7:00 PM.
Criminal Trespass Warning: Two UT students reported a non-UT subject yelling and threatening them when they were at the intersection of 21st Street and Guadalupe. When they attempted to walk away the subject followed them to Gregory Gym, continuing to yell threats. The non-UT subject was identified and told the officer that the two students had bumped into him and had made fun of his mental issues. During the investigation, the subject was issued a written criminal trespass warning and was escorted from the area.
Union Building, #4 West Mall
Occurred on 5-10-06, at 1:00 AM.
Theft: A grey cash register was stolen from a second floor business. An on duty manager witnessed an unknown subject in the area and stated the register may have been placed into a white garbage bag. The unknown subject was described as: White male, 40 years of age, short dark hair, and a grey goatee. He was last seen wearing a bright orange shirt, khaki shorts, and was wearing a black "Java City" ball cap. Loss value: $800.00.
Waggener Hall, 2210 Speedway
Reported 5-10-06, at 8:45 PM.
Criminal Mischief: UT police officers responding to a door alarm discovered the glass insert to the office door broken out and the auditable alarm sounding. During the investigation, the officers were unable to determine if any property was missing. Loss value: Unknown at this time.
2200 Block Rio Grande Street
Occurred on 5-11-06, at 1:24 AM.
Driving While Intoxicated: A white Hyundai was observed traveling south with the headlights off. When the vehicle was stopped, the officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver's person. The driver stated that she had been drinking but had stopped drinking around midnight. After failing a Standardized field Sobriety test the driver was transported to Central Booking to submit a sample of her breath. The test determined that the alcohol level was below .08. The driver consented to a Drug Recognition Evaluation test. After the test, the officers determined the driver had been operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, and a central nervous system stimulant.
2500 Block Speedway
Occurred on 5-10-06, at 5:30 AM.
Criminal Trespass Warning: Three non-UT subjects were observed skateboarding on the sidewalk and using the stairs and planter boxes as ramps. During the investigation all three subjects were issued written criminal trespass warnings and escorted from area.
Occurred at various times.
Non-Criminal Calls: In addition to the above criminal cases, The University of Texas Police Department responded to 5 alarm calls, 2 unsecured door reports, 2 medical emergency calls, and 1 suspicious activity report between 05-10-06, and 05-11-06.
