CHAPTER 9 - PERSONNEL - CLASSIFIED
Sec. 9.27. Pay Adjustments in Transfers and Promotions
- Upon transfer or promotion, an employee's rate of pay for for the next position shall be determined as follows:
- 1. If the employee moves to a position with a different job title (classification), the rate of pay will be determined based upon the qualifications the employee brings to the new position, just as for any employee being appointed to University service for the first time. Any request for a rate of pay higher than the minimum for the new title must have prior approval from the Director, Office of Personnel Services and Employee Relations, regardless of the source of funds.
- 2. If the transfer is to the same job title (classification), an increase in pay is not permitted at the time of transfer. Any increase proposed under this paragraph must have prior approval from the Director, Office of Personnel Services and Employee Relations, regardless of the source of funds, and will be based upon the increased complexity of the new position.
