Subject: RESTRICTIONS ON SALE OF CLASSROOM/INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TO STUDENTS

Departments may not produce for purposes of sale, nor engage in the sale of, any classroom/instructional related materials to students.

When it is deemed necessary to require students to purchase materials that are not commercially available, departments should make arrangements for production and sale through the Co-Op and/or other local outlets. If such materials are authored by a faculty member at the University, the department must file the appropriate form, "Authorization to Use Textbooks, Notebooks, Manuals, etc., Written or Prepared by a Member of the Staff, UT Austin" as required by the Regents' Rules and Regulations.
