CHAPTER 5. SPECIAL PROGRAMS, PUBLICATIONS, AND PROJECTS

The following regulations have been adopted to control the use of campus facilities for the showing of motion pictures for which there is an admission charge.
The above restrictions on scheduling do not apply to Texas Union films shown in the Texas Union, the Law School Film Forum films shown in Townes Hall, or University Housing film programs shown in University housing facilities, other than Jester Center 121, for University housing residents and their guests.
- 1. Eligibility. Only departments and agencies with official University accounts may show films for an admission charge in any form. All funds collected must be deposited in an official University account.
- 2. Location. Films may be shown only in the following locations.
- Academic Center 21
- Batts Auditorium
- Burdine Hall 106
- Jester Center 121
- 3. Scheduling for University Agencies. The auditoriums listed above are available exclusively to academic departments, interdepartmental academic programs, and other University agencies from 8:00 a.m. Monday through 5:00 p.m. Friday for showing films for academically related purposes. The above auditoriums are also available at these times for the RTF Department's Cinema Texas film program and the Fine Arts' Summer Entertainment films. Reservations are made through the University offices that normally schedule these auditoriums.
- 4. Scheduling for Students' Association and Texas Union. The auditoriums listed above may be reserved for the Students' Association and/or Texas Union for showing films from 5:00 p.m. Friday until 12:00 midnight Sunday. Procedures for allocating the auditoriums shall be established by the Vice President for Student Affairs. The Students' Association and Texas Union may not co-sponsor film showings or reassign auditorium space to other agencies or student organizations unless prior approval has been obtained from the Vice President for Student Affairs.
- 5. Service Charge for Use of Auditorium. There will be a service charge of $40.00 for the use of these facilities when reserved to show films for which there is an admission price, or at which "donations" are accepted. The service charge may be waived only if an exception is obtained from the office of the Business Manager.
