Subject: ADVERTISING OF INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS AND COURSE OFFERING

Official announcements and information relating to the University's academic programs and course offerings are provided through the Course Schedule, college/school catalogues and departmental memoranda to the faculty.

(a) Academic departments, colleges/schools, or other instructional units may not advertise course offerings or program offerings through newspapers or other public media.

(b) Advertisements of non-credit continuing education courses/programs are permissible if approved by the dean or director of the sponsoring unit.

(c) Informational brochures/pamphlets and similar materials describing the role and scope of University departments or other operating units may be issued, if approved by the dean or equivalent administrative officer.

No state appropriated funds may be used to pay for advertisements or informational brochures/pamphlets.
