CHAPTER 6. UNIVERSITY FACILITIES AND SERVICES
The University of Texas at Austin Policy Memorandum 6.502 Office of the President September 1, 1978Subject: ADVERTISING OF INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS AND COURSE OFFERING
Official announcements and information relating to the University's academic programs and course offerings are provided through the Course Schedule, college/school catalogues and departmental memoranda to the faculty.
No state appropriated funds may be used to pay for advertisements or informational brochures/pamphlets.
- (a) Academic departments, colleges/schools, or other instructional units may not advertise course offerings or program offerings through newspapers or other public media.
- (b) Advertisements of non-credit continuing education courses/programs are permissible if approved by the dean or director of the sponsoring unit.
- (c) Informational brochures/pamphlets and similar materials describing the role and scope of University departments or other operating units may be issued, if approved by the dean or equivalent administrative officer.
