1910 Professional degree in Architecture offered in the College of Engineering
1948 School of Architecture established as a division of the College of Engineering

McCombs School of Business

1912 Business Administration offered in the College of Arts and Sciences
1922 School of Business Administration established as separate entity
1945 School of Business  reorganized as the College of Business Administration
1947 College departmentalized into five components
2000 College renamed as the Red McCombs School of Business
   

College of Communication

1899 Department of Public Speaking established
1914 Department became School of Journalism
1958 KUT-FM Radio established
1965 School of Journalism reorganized into School of Communication
1979 School renamed the College of Communication
   

Continuing and Extended Education Division

1909 Division of Extension established
   

College of Education

1891 School of Pedagogy established
1906 School of Education established

1970 Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs established
   

College of Liberal Arts

1883 College of Literature, Science and the Arts established when The University of Texas was founded
1971 College of Arts and Sciences divided into College of Humanities, College of Natural Sciences, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Division of General and Comparative Studies
1979 College of Humanities, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and the Division of General and Comparative Studies combined to form the College of Liberal Arts
   

College of Natural Sciences

1971 College of Natural Sciences separated from the College of Arts and Sciences as separate entity
   

School of Nursing

1890 John Sealy Hospital Training School for Nurses established in Galveston
1896 John Sealy Hospital School for Nurses became the School of Nursing as a division of The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
1932 Name changed to the John Sealy College of Nursing
1945 John Sealy College of Nursing joined the newly created Department of Nursing Education to form the School of Nursing at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
1960 University of Texas at Austin became an extension campus for the School of Nursing
1967 School of Nursing reorganized into University of Texas Nursing School (System-wide) and administrative offices were moved to Austin
1976 The University of Texas System School of Nursing reorganized to place each of the six schools of nursing under the jurisdiction of local system institutions.  The School of Nursing at Austin became part of The University of Texas at Austin.
   

College of Pharmacy

1893 College of Pharmacy added to The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston
1927 College of Pharmacy moved to University of Texas campus in Austin
   

School of Social Work

1950 School of Social Work established as graduate program
1958 Undergraduate study in Social Work began as a concentration in the College of Arts and Sciences
1975 Bachelor of Social Work program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education
