Texas Excellence Teaching Awards
14 Awards -- One faculty recipient in each school or college
Established to encourage quality teaching. This award publicly recognizes individuals whose teaching and interactions with students have had an effective, positive influence on the lives and educational experience of students at The University of Texas at Austin.
Recipients are selected by student committees organized by student councils which are coordinated by the Cabinet of College Councils. Nominations are solicited from students and recommendations are submitted to the President of the Cabinet of College Councils who submits them to the Ex-Students' Association. Cash award. The James W. Vick Texas Excellence Award for Academic Advising
The James W. Vick Texas Excellence Awards for Academic Advising
seek to promote quality advising at The University of Texas by publicly
recognizing advisors who have had an effective, positive influence
on the educational experience of University students. Nominations
are solicited campus-wide during the fall, and a student selection
committee selects the advisors. Cash award.
Past Recipients
The Elizabeth Shatto Massey Award for Excellence in Teacher Education
Created in 2003, the Massey Award is given annually to one faculty
member at UT Austin who is a "teacher of teachers" - someone who
is preparing today's students to become tomorrow's elementary or
