U.S. Fulbright Grants - Student Program at UT
The U.S. Fulbright Grants - Student Program gives UT students the opportunity to meet, work, and live with the people of the host country in order to promote mutual understanding through engagement in an atmosphere of openness, academic integrity, and intellectual freedom. The goals of the student program are:
1) To promote mutual understanding through a commitment to the free flow of ideas and exchange across national boundaries.
2) To expand, through this understanding, the boundaries of human wisdom, empathy and perception.
3) Through cooperation in constructive activities among people of different nations, to create true and lasting world peace.
The U.S. Fulbright Grants - Student Program awards to U.S. citizens in all academic disciplines to study, do research, or assistant teach overseas for one academic year. This allows students to design their own programs which may include:
- University coursework
- Independent library or field research
- Professional training in the arts and other fields
- Assistant English-teaching
- A combination of these or other projects
All student nominations from UT-Austin are forwarded to the Fulbright organization by the national deadline in mid-October. Interested students should be:
- Recent UT graduates (UT juniors are encouraged to apply)
- UT Master's and doctoral candidates
- UT Student writers, journalists, and those in law, business, and other professional fields
- UT student Artists and musicians
