Federally Mandated Race Code Changes
The University of Texas at Austin is currently involved in planning the implementation of federally mandated changes for the reporting of ethnicity and race codes. UT Austin and every other school, college and university (elementary and secondary schools, two- and four-year colleges and universities) that report data to the federal government are required to use these new ethnicity and race codes. The new codes pertain to both students and employees, for reporting through the Department of Education and the Department of Labor.
