Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards

Funding or Award Criteria	The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program supports the research and teaching careers of talented young faculty in the chemical sciences. Based on institutional nominations, the program provides discretionary funding to faculty at an early stage in their careers. Criteria for selection include an independent body of scholarship attained within the first five years of their appointment as independent researchers, and a demonstrated commitment to education, signaling the promise of continuing outstanding contributions to both research and teachings. The Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Awards Program provides an unrestricted research grant of $75,000. The complete solicitation can be found online for review.
Eligibility	Nominees must hold a full-time tenure-track academic appointment, and are normally expected to have been appointed no earlier than mid-year 2003. Awardees are from Ph.D. granting departments in which scholarly research is a principal activity. Undergraduate education is an important component of the nominee’s activities.

VPR Required Documents	Please submit the following materials electronically to limitedsub@austin.utexas.edu no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8: Dean's or ORU Director's Letter of Nomination Four page maximum summary description of research plans and briefly discuss research accomplishments as an independent faculty member. The biographical sketch of the UT PI ** The Associate Deans for Research should rank the proposals accordingly and submit them forward.
Notes	Please note there is a Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award which is different from the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award. UT Austin does not submit for the Henry Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award because "awardees are typically in departments that do not grant a doctoral degree."
