STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
To ship animals from ARC, you must follow these steps. You need to provide at least one week notice to ARC management when shipping animals from ARC.
1. If ARC assistance is needed, a Service Request, completed and signed by the primary investigator, must be submitted to the ARC management at least one week in advance of the desired shipping date.
2. The animals must be evaluated by the veterinarian, who will provide an official Health Certificate to accompany the shipment. The veterinarian will also provide a Health Status Report, which reflects the health status of the animal colony.
3. The department sending the animals is responsible for arranging reliable transporation from ARC to the destination. When shipping animals outside the Austin area, you can contact Animal Port Houston, (281)821-2244, to arrange transportation (especially recommended for international shipment).
4. Food, water, and rodent shipping containers may be obtained through ARC.
