BFL as a Teaching Resource

In addition to being a research center, BFL also serves as a valuable teaching resource. Its close proximity to UT Austin campus and relatively protected environment provide an ideal setting for student field studies. Faculty and students from other local educational institutions, St. Edwards University, Concordia Lutheran College, and Austin Community College, also benefit from BFL's facilities and biodiversity.

BFL has also hosted entomology and ant workshops for researchers and teachers, as well as short field trips for many undergraduate, graduate, and public school classes.
