Another movie showing pulse decay after inhomogeization by NIM refraction. Here an extra envelope (modulation) is shown (red curve) that does not decay. The decay of the actual pulse can be compared to this red line - that is how big the pulse would be if it did not decay. Also see how the carriers go backwards in NIM, and how their values match at the surface but how their slopes do not match.
