Web based courses provide an intriguing opportunity to investigate educational
innovations in an atmosphere well suited to controlled experiments. This investigation
does not make comparisons between traditional and web based deliveries, rather,
it draws conclusions based solely on the innovation. We present a discussion
on the usefulness of a web course as a tool for research.
