Tulsa World reported on a Ray Marshall Center project aimed at reducing poverty and increasing self-sufficiency among low-income parents of children enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs. Through our partnership with the Community Action Project of Tulsa County, a specialized workforce development model created by the Ray Marshall Center, with partners at Harvard University, is demonstrating promising early results in helping low-income parents begin a career path in health care. The Center’s goal in this project is to develop a proven and sustainable job sectoral model targeting low-income parents and their children that can be replicated in other communities.
