6/10/2010 – Texas Business Review Features Center’s Research on Returns from Texas Workforce Investments

The June 2010 issue of the Texas Business Review featured recent work by Ray Marshall Center researchers to produce return-on-investment (ROI) estimates from Texas workforce investments. The article provides an overview of the Texas workforce development system, the Center’s research methods, ROI estimates for different stakeholders groups, and recommendations for workforce development policies and programs. Some highlights from the Center’s research include an annualized ROI estimate of 38% for program participants, 25% for taxpayers, and 35% for society as a whole. In addition, high-intensity workforce development services were associated with substantively higher returns than those for low-intensity services. Click here to download the full article.
