6/2/2010 – Daniel Schroeder Instructing at Workshop on Using Administrative Data in Early Childhood Research

Ray Marshall Center researcher Daniel Schroeder is teaching at a three-day workshop hosted by the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research on conducting research on public childhood programs. The workshop focuses on data from early childhood programs as well as administrative data, including TANF and Unemployment Insurance wage data, which provide information on family circumstances. Participants will learn methods for working with administrative data including diagnosing and fixing problems, unduplicating and linking administrative and survey data, and analyzing the data. The workshop’s design addresses the growing interest in linking early childhood data systems with K-12 data and using this data to improve children’s school readiness and reduce disparities.
