Initial Report on ACAN Comparison Group Matching

This report summarizes the preliminary work performed on creating matching cohorts of 2010 high school graduates for three ACAN participating organizations: Breakthrough, College Forward, and Con MI MADRE. The Ray Marshall Center developed matching cohorts of Central Texas high school graduates from the class of 2010 with characteristics similar to those of participants in ACAN programs. These matching cohorts will serve as comparison groups in later quasiexperimental evaluation projects designed to measure the difference in postsecondary enrollment and persistence rates between ACAN participants and non-participants.
