Brendan Hill

Brendan Hill is a Research and System Analyst at the Ray Marshall Center for the Study of Human Resources. He initially joined the Center in February 2004 as a Graduate Research Assistant, analyzing and managing datasets, as well as conducting background research for a number of projects. During his tenure, Mr Hill has worked on various issues of the child care market in Texas, including both the Texas Child Care Subsidy Program after Devolution and the Texas Child Care Market Rate Survey with Associate Director Deanna Schexnayder and Research Associate Dr. Daniel Schroeder. Mr. Hill has also participated in the Center's ongoing research in education-related areas. He is currently researching transitions of high school graduates with Center Director Dr. Chris King and Ms. Schexnayder on the Central Texas High School Graduate Data Center project. Prior to joining the Center, Mr. Hill received the degrees of Bachelors of Arts in both economics and political science from University of Michigan in May 2000. That summer, he held a position in Boston, Massachusetts, organizing nursing home workers, and then in the fall he returned to Ann Arbor to be a research assistant at the Institute of Social Research. The following year, he moved to Washington, D.C., and was employed by the Economic Policy Institute as a research assistant to study welfare reform and issues confronting workers in the low wage labor market. In August 2003, he entered the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and received the Master of Public Affairs degree in 2005. |
