Jim Schwab, Ph.D.
Dr. Schwab is the Clara Pope Willoughby Centennial Professor in Child Welfare and the Assistant Dean for Doctoral Programs. Dr. Schwab’s research interests include human services administration, data analysis and child welfare services.
Monica Faulkner, Ph.D., LMSW
Dr. Faulkner is a Research Associate at the Center for Social Work Research. Her research interests include child welfare services, women’s health issues and issues related to the Latino community.

Beth Gerlach, Ph.D., LCSW
Dr. Beth Gerlach is a Research Associate at the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her current research includes increasing the educational stability of foster youth and foster care reform.
Shannon Mann, MAC, MSSW
Shannon is the Program Coordinator for the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) where she coordinates special events & conferences, manages human capital, accounting & budgets for current research projects, and oversees community outreach and social media.
Laura Marra, LMSW
Laura is the project coordinator for the Child and Family Research Institute (CFRI) where she manages multiple projects related to child care and child welfare issues. She has completed a portfolio in applied statistical modeling and gained extensive research experience working at the Health Behavior Research and Training Institute (HBRT) at the University of Texas at Austin.
Jen is a doctoral candidate at UT Austin’s School of Social Work. Her research interests are child and family welfare and services as they relate to social program planning and analysis, policy analysis, and community organizing.
