APS Competency Sets
During Fiscal Year 1999, the Institute compiled lists of job competencies for staff of the Texas Adult Protective Services program. Click below to see the sets in Adobe Acrobat format.
These competency sets were created to match the structure of APS services in Texas: one set for in-home workers with a special section on legal protection (guardianship) workers; one set for facility investigation workers, and one set for supervisors. Development of each set included review of competencies and job descriptions from other states, review of Texas job descriptions, and significant APS staff input and feedback. Finally, the sets were validated through a statewide survey of all APS direct delivery staff.
