Schedule of Institute Training

You have several options for how to view the schedule. You may view the complete schedule sorted by date, or customize the view by selecting from the menus below, then clicking on the "View Schedule" Button.

For example, if you want to see all upcoming training in Lubbock, select Lubbock from the "By City" drop-down menu. To see CPS training in Lubbock, select from both "Program " and "City" menus. Choices on menus reflect only those available in the current schedule.

• Protective Services Training Institute training is open only to professional staff of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
• Do not submit DFPS Form 7901 when registering for PSTI training.
• Register as early as possible. Workshop capacity is limited. Registration typically closes five days before the session date.
• When you register, you will receive detailed information about the time and location of the session. If you register, then later find out that you will not be able to attend, please call immediately to cancel your registration so someone else will have the opportunity to attend.
• All Institute workshops are open to DFPS staff from all programs. DFPS-Focused workshops are suitable for all DFPS professional staff. Other workshops are tailored to either CPS, APS, or CCL issues, including case examples and training activities. If you choose to attend a workshop that is not focused on your program, you will need to adapt some of the training content to make it applicable to your own work, and portions of the training may not be relevant to your job.
• In order to assure the quality of Institute training for certification and professional licensure, participants are expected to attend the entire workshop in order to obtain contact hour and CEU credit. Social work CEUs are provided for all PSTI courses.
