In August 2001, Mr. Jung was promoted to Deputy Director of Teacher Retirement System. He is responsible for benefit administration, finance and accounting, TRA-Active Care, management information systems, human resources, communications, legal services, and governmental relations. He previously had spent five years as Chief Financial Officer of TRS. He was responsible for the Financial Division, overseeing functions of the Management Information Systems, staff services, and Accounting Departments. He was also actively involved with the system’s consulting actuary.

Mr. Jung spent two years in audit and budget roles at the Legislative Budget Board. He previously had 20 years at the Texas State Auditor’s Office in audit and management roles. He has also served as the former Chair of the National State Auditor’s EDP Committee, as a member of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board’s (GASB) task force for Higher Education Reporting. Mr. Jung was recognized by the Texas State Agency Business Administrators’ Association (TSABAA) as the 2002 Administrator of the Year.

Ronnie Jung received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and an MPA from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at UT Austin. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1976. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Texas Society for CPAs, and is the Past President of the Austin Society for Public Administration.
