Partners Texas Mental Health Transformation Initiative and Department of State Health Services The Texas Mental Health Transformation (MHT) initiative is a five-year grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Texas is charged with building a solid foundation for delivering evidence-based mental health and related services, fostering recovery, improving quality of life, and meeting the multiple needs of mental health consumers across the life span. MHT provides oversight and funding for Building Resiliency After Trauma. The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) serves as the lead agency for the MHT project. Center for Social Work Research The Center for Social Work Research’s (CSWR) mission is to foster research that advances social work practice and theory; enhances social work education and learning; and builds knowledge about the human condition, social issues, and service delivery systems. CSWR developed and is conducting the evaluation of the Building Resiliency project and is participating in multi-state efforts to evaluate the impact of mental health transformation efforts on child resiliency.
Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County Mental Health Connection of Tarrant County (MHC) is a collaboration of public and private agencies as well as individuals who need mental health care services and their caregivers. MHC has organized a community learning collaborative, which developed recommendations for the community aimed at improving services to children who have experienced trauma. MHC provides leadership and coordination amongst the participating child-serving providers in Tarrant County.
The Children’s Partnership The Children’s Partnership is an organization developed to meet the complex needs of children and youth with serious emotional disturbances in Travis County by creating a collaborative system of care comprised of community partners. The Children’s Partnership provides leadership and coordination amongst the participating child-serving providers in Travis County.
