Administrative Services

The Purchasing area serves CTR Principle Investigators and their research personnel by ensuring timely and accurate purchases of items needed to complete their project objectives. Access required forms, procedures, and the online office supply catalog. Shannon also handles student worker scheduling, courier assignments, and conference room reservations. The Personnel area is responsible for processing all CTR payroll, scholarship payments, tuition and fees, and payments to independent contractors, as well as travel expense reimbursement. Learn more about student and employee benefits and access required forms.

Contracts

CTR's Contracts Office serves as the liaison between the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the university researchers, faculty, staff, and students. The Contracts office is responsible for submitting all TxDOT research proposals, modifications, and for obtaining approval for out-of-state travel and equipment purchases. Library

The CTR library contains nearly 30,000 volumes of transportation materials, including copies of CTR reports. We also have reports from the Texas Transportation Institute at Texas A&M, the Southwest Region University Transportation Center, the University of Houston, Texas Tech University, and the University of Texas at El Paso. The library boasts a complete set of materials from the Transportation Research Board, a government documents section, and international materials. In addition, our collection includes materials from the TxDOT library. To discover additional materials provided by the CTR library, visit the library site.

The CTR library provides a variety of reference services, including literature searches of transportation-related material, Inter-Library Services, and special purchases for our collection. Reference questions and material requests can be e-mailed to the library. Our catalog is available online.

The library is open from 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00, Monday through Friday.

Communications and Production

CTR's Production Department handles the publishing process for research reports and products as well as general communication materials. This department will assist with report graphics and graphic design. Services include figure preparation, helpful tips, and guidance on the requirements for figure legibility. In addition to report graphics, our department can provide assistance with Web site production, PowerPoint presentations, slide duplication, transparencies, and presentation boards and posters. IT Services

CTR, in conjunction with UT's Cockrell School of Engineering, offers computer assistance to faculty, staff, and graduate students who are conducting research for the Center. Areas such as hardware software problems and general computer questions are covered.
