UT-Center for Transportation Research Passenger Vehicle Safety Inspection Survey

UT-Center for Transportation Research Passenger Vehicle Safety Inspection Survey

Conducted in support of a study for TxDPS at the direction of the Texas State Legislature

Passenger vehicles registered in Texas are required to pass an annual safety inspection to ensure compliance with safety standards. While safety inspections are required throughout the state, emissions testing is also required of vehicles inspected in 17 Texas counties to comply with federally mandate clean air requirements. Vehicle safety inspections are performed at Official Vehicle Inspection Stations licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Please take the Vehicle Safety Inspection Program Survey to help CTR and the TxDPS evaluate Motorists’ Experiences with the state’s vehicle safety inspection program.
