The proposed research part of an NSF NEES Small Group Project, directed at UT Austin, and
involving the University of California at San Diego, Washington State University, and North
Carolina A&T State University. It is intended to use the NEES organization and methodology to
supply the experimental and analytical basis needed for the next generation of probabilistic
performance-based design provisions for masonry in the US. Results from quasi-static testing
and analysis at UT Austin (Ferguson Lab), WSU and NCA&T will be compared with results of
shaking-table testing at UCSD.
