Researcher leads underwater archeological project in Gulf of Mexico


C. Andrew Hemmings, research associate of the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory (TARL) at The University of Texas at Austin, will lead an underwater archeological expedition July 30 to Aug. 12 in the Gulf of Mexico to search for submerged evidence of the first Americans.

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health has awarded the 2008 Harry E. and Bernice M. Moore Fellowship to doctoral candidate Neely Mahapatra in the School of Social Work for her research on the effects of domestic violence on women of South Asian origin.
