About SMIDAbout SMID

SMID is the analytical bibliographical journal Studies in Mycenaean Inscriptions and Dialect, published yearly from 1953-1978 and compiled in two volumes by the late Lydia Baumbach, Studies in Mycenaean Inscriptions and Dialect 1953-1964 and Studies in Mycenaean Inscriptions and Dialect 1965-1978. SMID contained glossaries of individual Mycenaean terms, tablet and series citations, and subject indices all linked to bibliographical references. As a reference tool, SMID was both complex and comprehensive, with indices of linguistic, archaeological, historical, religious, and cultural topics, as well as individual words and phrases in the tablets.
