Subject: Faculty Exit Checklist
The following describe procedures for clearing faculty/researchers that terminate their employment with The University. The clearance process described in Guidelines for the Faculty/Researcher Exit Checklist [Word] enables faculty to exit The University in good standing by appropriately verifying clearances, as applicable, with the:
- Office of Environmental Health & Safety Office — laboratory closure and proper handling, transfer, or disposal of chemicals, radioactive and biological materials, controlled substances, lasers and radiation generating equipment;
- Office of Sponsored Projects — transfer or termination of sponsored research projects; and
- Office of Research Support — closure of projects involving animal or human research subjects.
Please note that any requests for the transfer of equipment to another institution must be processed through the Controller’s Office.
This process supplements existing internal inventory checks that each department chair or center director has developed for faculty/researchers who are leaving the University.
These procedures are effective immediately. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of the Vice President for Research, 232-2654.
