| (1) Temperatures are at the Surface of the Pavement structure. These may be determined from experience or may be estimated using equations developed by SHRP or LTPP, but modified to represent surface temperatures. Surface Grade high temperatures are generally 3 C to 4C greater than those determined for Superpave PG binders. | ||||||||||||||||
| (2) If the creep stiffness is below 300.0 Mpa, the direct tension test is not required. If the creep stiffness is between 300 and 600 Mpa the direct tension failure strain requirement can be used in lieu of the creep stiffness requirement. The m-value requirement must be satisfied in both cases. | ||||||||||||||||
