Research

As an organized research unit at The University of Texas at Austin, TARL is actively involved in a variety of archeological research projects. Throughout TARL's history, the bulk of its research projects has been done under contract with state and federal agencies. This situation has changed as TARL no longer submits bids for competitive contracts, although several contract-based projects are still in progress. Instead, TARL's focus is on grant- and donation-supported research initiatives and on helping support faculty and student projects consistent with our mission. We also lend assistance to the research efforts of regional and statewide volunteer-based archeological organizations.

Our overall goal is to undertake cutting-edge research for new innovation in archeological method and theory.

You can help us achieve this ambitious goal by becoming an individual or corporate member of the Friends of TARL. Your contributions will go directly to new research initiatives.
