Berquist
Lon
is currently a Policy Analyst for the Texas
Department of Information Resources. His
dissertation research examines the interplay
of federal, state, and local policy in developing
advanced telecommunications infrastructure.
He has been a visiting Instructor at Trinity
University, an Assistant Instructor in the
Department of Radio-Television-Film, a Research
Associate at the IC2 Institute, and a Research
Specialist for the City of Austin's Telecomm.

Patrick
Burkart, PhD
Current
research includes comparative Latin American
telecom reforms, music ecommerce and digital
rights management, Web personalization technology,
the organization of "global civil society"
in the World Symposium of the Information
Society, and the organization of the video
game industry.

Carolyn
Cunningham
Carolyn Cunningham, PhD student, focuses
her work on social uses of technology, particularly
how new technologies impact women's lives.
Her Masters thesis, Technologies of Anxiety:
Discourses of Fertility and Infertility,
examined shifting notions of fertility throughout
the twentieth century. As a Research Associate
at TIPI, Cunningham contributes to the "2-1-1
State-by-State" periodic updates, wrote
the report, "The Status of Wireless
Access to 2-1-1," and participates
in the Community Network Evaluation project.

Erich
Pelletier
Conducts research in several areas relevant
to the mission of TIPI, including telecommunications
use in social services, intellectual property
issues, digital privacy, and digital gaming.
He conducted the initial research used in
the 211 Project, and has continued work
at TIPI through the digital games research
for the Digital Media Collaboratory.

Dorie
Pickle
Before
attending the LBJ School, Dorie worked in
the dot-com field as a project director
and a graphic designer. Dorie founded two
web-related companies between 1999 and 2001.
Dorie is working on issues relating to the
telecom panel of the Rural Policy Research
Institute and has worked on the Community
Networking evaluation project.
