Randy R. King

Randy King currently serves as an Engineering Specialist with the Brownwood Area Office in the Brownwood District of the Texas Department of Transportation.  Randy has twenty-five years of experience with TxDOT.

A native Texan, King was born in Goldthwaite and raised in Zephyr.  King worked as a summer employee with the Department for one summer.  After graduating from high school, he went to work as a full-time employee for TxDOT in April, 1981, in the Brown County Maintenance Section and later transferred to the Brownwood Area Office.

During his employment with TxDOT, King has served as an inspector in all phases and in all types of roadway construction projects.  For the past ten years, he has served as chief inspector and project manager for the annual district wide seal coat operation.  He has been involved in all aspects of planning and designing this yearly project and is in charge of designing the asphalt rates for each such project.

In addition to his functional duties with the Department, King has had the opportunity to serve as a member of a co-committee (consisting of personnel with the Department and the Texas Asphalt Pavement Association) in charge of planning the annual Seal Coat Conference.  In addition, he was chosen to serve on the committee to re-write the current version of the Texas Seal Coat Manual.
