Paul Montgomery, P.E.
Paul Montgomery is a graduate of Texas A&M University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering in 1987.
Montgomery began his career with the Texas Department of Transportation in the Tyler Residency, serving eight months before transferring to the Mineola Residency where he served as an engineering assistant involved in the design, construction and maintenance of highways over the next two years. He then spent two years in the district design section in Tyler before being promoted to Assistant Area Engineer in the Jacksonville Area Office. At the Jacksonville office, Paul oversaw the design, construction and maintenance of highways and bridges including a unique project involving the replacement of nine bridges of the Texas State Railroad for Texas Parks and Wildlife.
In 1995, Paul became the Assistant Director of Maintenance in the Tyler District and in 1998, the Director of Maintenance in Waco, where he was responsible for all district maintenance operations and was one of the lead individuals in the development and implementation of TxDOT’s first Total Maintenance Contract. Since 2001, Montgomery has been Director of Maintenance for the Lufkin District.
