Gerald D. Peterson

Gerald D. "Jerry" Peterson is the director of the Asphalt and Chemical Branch of the Materials and Pavements Section of TxDOT's Construction Division. He started with TxDOT in 1993 and was initially hired to assist with the implementation of the PG binder specification. Since then he has performed testing on, and written specifications and test procedures for all types of asphalt binders. Prior to working for TxDOT Jerry attended Texas A&M University, receiving a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering with a thesis on asphalt chemistry, aging, and recycling. Jerry is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and is also an avid motorcyclist, an accomplished juggler, and a homebrewer.
