Tammy B. Sims, P.E.

Tammy Sims received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and is registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. She has over 18+ years experience working with the Texas Department of Transportation.

Sims began her career in the Tyler District, where she worked from 1987-92 on district lab, construction and maintenance contracts. Subsequently, she transferred to the Tyler District area office as a construction inspector, where she performed highway and bridge construction inspection and materials testing. From 1992-98 she was Engineering Specialist for the TxDOT Construction Division, where she was responsible for contract administration and contract oversight.

Since 1998, she has been the Special Projects Engineer for the TxDOT Maintenance Division.  She is responsible for maintenance management, statewide maintenance budget allocation, research, and special projects.
