Research

Due to the increased interest in preventive maintenance, research and techniques are continuously being developed in the field of pavement preservation.  It is important to channel the latest findings from this research to the industry professionals working in the field. A main function of TPPC is the dissemination of research findings to industry professionals and engineers and the implementation and monitoring of new techniques in the field.

TPPC is involved in developing a strategic plan for TxDOT to identify tactical or rapidly attainable research goals and prepare and submit compelling project statements to TxDOT’s Research Management Committee.  The ultimate goal in this strategic plan for maintenance research is to attract more research funds for pavement-preservation-related issues.
