Funding or Award Criteria “…provides funds to universities, colleges and consortia thereof for the purchase of multi-user instruments. The maximum request is $500,000 for instrumentation. Additional funds may be requested for personnel who are needed to support cyber-enhanced projects…The principal investigator must be the chemistry department chairperson or equivalent.”

  1. A description of instrument(s) requested and rationale for selection (<2 pages), also indicating whether or not the proposal meets NSF's "cyberinfrastructure" criteria;
  2. A description of procedures for operation and maintenance of the instrument(s) (<2 pages);
  3. A summary of the proposed research that will be conducted using the instrument(s) (<2 pages);
  4. Prior NSF funding received (past 5 years) (<1 pages);
  5. Proposed budget that includes installation, maintenance, etc. for instrument(s); and
  6. Departmental Plan for Broadening Support [See solicitation.] (<2 pages)
Notes Proposals may be submitted by the deans of the colleges of Engineering, Natural Sciences and Pharmacy only.
