My current research interests are centered around determining what genes control changes in locomotion in Caenorhabditis elegans based on environmental cues.
Prior to joining the Pierce-Shimomura Lab, I worked in the Sisson lab, within the Section of Molecular Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of Texas. Here I worked on designing a high throughput screen to test the effects of libraries of small molecule drugs on the cellularizing Drosophila melanogaster embryo.
I earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008.
