Norman Minter elected President at Spring Meeting, cont'd

In his remarks, Norman Minter, continuing the theme of staying connected, asked attendees to fill out the Horns Partner survey placed at each persons place and indicate whether they would be willing to help with various UT activities. This project, he explained, is a collaboration among RFSA, Human Resource Services other University events offices to utilize the skills of retirees, and he asked that members also add comments about their interests and important concerns so that these needs can be addressed.

In other business, John McKetta, treasurer, pointed out that dues from members taking advantage of the new three-year membership plan resulted in a spike in RFSA's income this year.  Treasury balance in February 2007 was $5,789; income was $2,251 from travel and $13,231 from dues. Expenditures for the year were $7,947 with a current balance of $13,326.

He recognized Dee Fruchter, long-time scholarship chair, and Susana Aleman, current chair.for their zealous oversight of the scholarship fund. The 2007-08 market value of this fund is $591,639.
