Immunizations for the Elderly Is Last Health Topic of Year

A talk on immunizations that are particularly useful to the older population is set for April 20 at the Howson Branch Library, 2500 Exposition Blvd, at 1:30 p.m.  This presentation, to be made by Dr. Laura Guerrero, internist with the Austin Diagnostic Clinic, will conclude the year's conversations on health issues affecting our aging population. Life in Frontier Texas Described in Pease Papers

A lonely life in the newly completed Governor's Mansion was described in a letter Elisha Marshall Pease wrote to his wife, Lucadia, back home in Connecticut in 1856.  Excerpts from this letter and others contained in the Pease Collection of the Austin History Center were read by Mike Miller, Archivist, Austin History Center, and Kay Hart, board member of the Austin History Center Association, during their presentation to the Discussion Interest Group on February 25, 2009 at the Yarborough Library.
