Charles Tofel

Welcome and thank you for visiting the University of Texas NROTC Battalion website. I am midshipman 1/C Charles Tofel, the Battalion Commanding Officer for the spring 2008 semester.

As with any spring semester, the timeline is inundated with important events, and even more important training. This semester’s schedule will include three leadership conferences, a national pistol competition, the Tulane drill meet, Leatherneck FTX, Zimmermann Recon Challenge, Dinning-in, President’s Cup and numerous VIP visitors. New this semester: we will be inviting local High School JROTC students to compete in a rifle competition in order to create awareness of our Battalion and give back to the community.

Due to security concerns some options previously offered may not be accessible, however many necessary informative resources, such as semester event specifics will be posted. I urge everyone to use the site features and do not be afraid to offer up suggestions on where you feel the Battalion should be heading both now and in the future.

Thank you for making the Battalion as successful as it has become today but continue to strive for excellence, stifle content, and create an environment conducive for effective and efficient change. Good luck in your endeavors this spring and Hook ‘em!
