NROTC Program

Marine Option (MO)

The MO is a member of the NROTC Battalion whom is seeking a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.  Unlike the active duty Marines, the MO is afforded the opportunity to compete for three or four year scholarships, sponsored through the Marine Corps, in an exchange for the opportunity to lead Marines in the Fleet Marine Force.  The following provides an overview of the requirements for commission as an MO:

MO Requirements for Commission:

• CORTRAMID (Freshman Summer)
• Mountain Warfare Training (Sophomore Summer)
• Officer Candidate School (Junior Summer)
• Bachelors Degree of Arts or Science

• NS 302 Introduction to Naval Science
• NS 312 Seapower and Maritime Affairs (U.S. Naval History)
• NS 362 Amphibious Warfare
• NS 326 Evolution of Warfare
• NS 330 Leadership and Ethics
• NS 335 Leadership and Management
